Kurt Vonnegut was my gateway to literature. He was so innovative and so heartfelt and so damn funny...he was more rock 'n' roll than rock 'n' roll, to my eighteen-year-old consciousness. He's worth about one thousand of us working today.

In other words, great company, if you can get it.

And look, the hits keep coming!

Would you believe I'm looking into it this weekend?

I'll keep you posted.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be curious how it looks.

Art, that's great! Congratulations! :2thumbsup:

I like the "rock lit" and "alternative" tags much better than the "adultery" tag, though. :P

And of course "adultery" is alphabetically first.

Can the tags really matter that much?

Nah, I doubt it. It just struck me cause the book is so much not about that, really. So much more about rock lit and music in general, so that tag makes no sense in the bigger scheme of things. I never understand tags anyway, my kids use them but they're a mystery to me.

But anyway, it's great news about the e-book! I've never heard of Smashwords before, never did much with e-books either, but since they're becoming so popular and accessible I need to familiarize myself. I'll always love the physical-ness of books, but I can see the advantage of carrying a whole library in a little teeny tablet thingy.

Aarrrghh!!! Wrong format for me right at this time. If it's dead at work today, I'll look for a version of Stanza for my Blackberry Tour. That's what I'm using now. Had an iPod Touch for my books, but gave that to Kyle when I got my Tour so I can read and access my library from my phone.

Sorry, photographer. I thought Smashwords covered everything. Is Stanza free?

I'm right there with you, bre. To me, the book as a tool is pretty much perfect as-is, but if other people want something else, that's fine with me.

And I have a suspicion that ebooks are better for the environment. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, that's a good thing.

I suspect we're all going to start having real books for those titles that really matter to us and ebooks for everything else.

Six free samples downloaded already!

Stanza IS free, yes. I had it on my iPod Touch, but I used eReader more. Not to worry....if I can't get Stanza for my Berry yet, I'm sure I will soon. Apps are being developed for BB constantly.

Aha! Mobipocket IS available for BB and I believe that will be viable with one of the formats. I'll look into it after I get back home tomorrow.

Just today, I was visiting with my BFF and he just bought an E-reader? E-Pad? (not the I-Pad). Anyway... it was my first contact, with such a device.

I fuckng LOVED IT! I couldn't put it down.... Before I ever held one in my hands, I didn't give two cents worth about Ebooks.... but now... oh man! True Greatness! (never will it replace my bookcases, though)

I will be investigating this new fangled technology further, and pursuing and perusing all options.... and Ghost Notes will be the first I buy! :av_toothless:

I was a little afraid that, once I got one in my hands, I might like it. Now I'm very afraid.

Not like "President Cheney" afraid, but afraid.
